Life has always given me the run around. I'm always trying to catch up with myself so I can take time to run off and have a new adventure. Be it one of my walk/runs to find a new path outside my neighborhood and discover new surroundings and meet new people; or take a weeks drive with no real planned destination....just jump in and drive. Of course I do get the chance to travel far outside my state and outside the country, but that entails planning, preparation and finance. I'm talking about finding the fun and enchantment outside your daily drudgery.
Begin with opening your eyes and really seeing things with a child's mind. Listening to sounds and smelling things...really tune into your senses. Walking clears your head. Take a new route. Walk near water, like a lake, river or if your lucky like me, the pacific ocean. Find some woods or a wide open pasture. Go anywhere, just go somewhere new. If you don't feel like walking, start skipping. You cant go skipping as an adult without laughing. I dare you, its impossible. Either you start laughing because its just so fun and you feel silly, or you feel ridiculous and have to laugh at yourself! My sister, God rest her weirdo heart, taught me to 'take the stick out' and just enjoy myself...whatever it takes. My sister, Michelle, passed away a year ago from breast cancer. She got up out of her bed 2 days before she took her last breath here on earth, mute from radiation to the brain and danced in place, shaking her groove thing... having a 5 minute party in her head, with the biggest smile on her face to the music in the room. She never got up again. I admired her love of life, fun and shear willingness to laugh at herself.
So you see, you don't have to have money to find your funny bone and a personal adventure. It makes getting up every morning a little more enjoyable. Catch up with yourself~GO
 Find your smile.
