By expressing some of the things I truly like ( or love), it will give you an inside look at what kind of person I am. I pondered if I have these likes or loves-if I developed them as a result of the way I was brought up, or whom my influence's were along the way.....or....was some of the reasons why I felt good about these things because they were ingrained in my 'being' when I was born on this earth? I believe we were 'known' before we joined the land of the living here on this planet. Anyways~
Some things that have meant a lot to me, that I like, that give me pleasure, a happy smile...are fairly simple. That's what my blog is about, its what I am about: the fun and simple things~
The top of my list, as it well should be everyone's...is FAMILY
Now I realize we cant pick our family members in the beginning...which leads me to think God has an interesting sense of humor for some of us- and if or when we decide to marry and expand our loved ones...(but even though I call my family a side-show from life's circus and sometimes I feel as if I'm stuck in the freak tent...(laughing at this as I say in the most happy loving way)) I cherish every last one of them in their own lovable uniqueness. Living or passed. I have a small group of girlfriends I call "my tribe" from my high school days that are like sisters to me. I can always count on them to draw strength from when I need it, when I stumble or feel low. They are family. And I have other friends, new ones that have came into my life recently, and even old friends that I have reconnected up with, that I love and consider them close...that makes them family also. There is almost nothing I wouldn't do for them if ever in need. ( for their betterment of course) even if it is to just throw a smile or laugh their way when life gets tough. "Family" !
I love animals. I spent half of my life on a farm...in a creepy, century old, haunted- but pretty cool old home. ( the other half I was a city girl) We raised many different kinds of animals for food, pets, etc. I was always the one who brought home injured or homeless animals, nursing them back to health. I just hate to see things suffer. I wanted to love them back to happiness. I guess that's my start for the nursing biz later in life.
Horses, I love horses!!!! Before I could drive, I got around my small country town of Monroe, Washington, on horseback. I was in 4-H. I showed my horses. I was even a judge at one time. I still have many ribbons. Horseback riding with my friends gave me the freedom I so desired to get out of my home environment. ( wasn't the best, not a lot of love~unfortunately) Horses!!!!
Nature. Hiking and walking, hearing the sounds of the birds singing and the wind blowing through the trees.... water running down a creek, the sound of ocean waves ... the sound of silence outside. ( now that one is hard to come by) Just seeing all the beauty that is around us at any given time. We are so much in a rush, always too busy or too tired to just stop and take it all in...it brings you back to reality and peace. Gives you a chance to deep breath..
I love weather- here comes my geek out in me... I love the changes in weather. Of course I love the warmth and sunshine the best, but I love when the wind whips hard and things go flying, yes :) and the rain comes crashing down in buckets...and best of all, I love when the fog starts to roll in. Its a little creepy, cool. Maybe that's why I like the movie The Fog ( original version) hmmmm. Pondering that one right now ~ ha
Here it comes
Finding shapes in the clouds
Hearing the leaves rustle as the birds find resting limbs
The sunshine peering from the top of a beautiful building, you can imagine the peace
I love flowers...of course...My favorites are Hydrangeas...
I do love lilacs and roses because of their beauty and fragrance...Ok, so basically I love all flowers. They are a living work of art. ( which I love also- good art)
With a strong work ethic and a good sense of humor to make the day roll a little more smoothly, because this kind of work isn't for pansies, I can't go wrong. Some of the boys are from the Pacific Northwest, and one from Hawaii. Beside, 'Lisa' doesn't do under-the-house work anymore...too many 'crawlies' under there I don't want to meet. ( not to mention the gasses, and noxious other yuck-no thank you!! haha)
BUFFALO!
My odd passion and like is for the Buffalo. For some reason my sister and I both have /had a love for buffalo. Maybe its their rawness, their muscular, furry peaceful- boldness... ( and not to gross anyone out but buffalo meat is great and very lean. Much better for your body than beef) I intend a trip in the future to the Utah-Wyoming-South Dakota area for frame-able pictures of the last few organic herd's in the US. You will know when that happens, because I'm sure I will have a few postings with some great pictures and adventures.
Well there is so much more to me than that. But it gets you a little closer to how my brain works and what entertains me, plus what I find dear to me. Nature or nurture, it is all relevant to me because it is what it is...just who I am...simple and fun, smiling and laughing- hugging who ever I can to bring some sunshine and care too. I'm not opposed to getting hugged myself...in fact I encourage it if you want to make me smile and feel the love! :)
Thanks for hanging with me today~ your awesome!
~ Peace out~
